Hearts & Hazards

A replayable d6 tabletop roleplaying game about timing, chaos, and making love happen anyway.

Hearts & Hazards is a rules-light, replayable d6 tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) built for one-shots, short campaigns, and convention play. Designed around romantic comedy chaos, dramatic timing, and emotional escalation, it’s a narrative-focused one-shot RPG where failure is fuel and love stories are forged under pressure.

Players take on the role of Cupids, semi-immortal matchmakers racing against the clock to create an unforgettable romance before time runs out.

You are loud.
You are impulsive.
You are here to make a love story legendary.

Anyone can make a match.
Only legends create a romance worth remembering.

A Romantic Comedy Tabletop RPG About Chaos and Timing

Hearts & Hazards isn’t about perfect planning or careful strategy.

It’s about:

  • Leaning hard into rom-com tropes

  • Encouraging big, reckless romantic gestures

  • Choosing chaos over control

  • Failing loudly and publicly

  • Letting sincerity land after everything goes wrong

The game rewards escalation, emotional mess, and dramatic timing.
Success means more when it comes after disaster.

How the Game Works

You play a team of Cupids with a shared goal:

Make the Grand Match happen before the clock runs out.

At the same time, each Cupid has a personal agenda that might help, complicate, or completely sabotage the romance.

As Cupids, you will:

  • Influence mortals with magical Heart Arrows

  • Engineer meet-cutes, first kisses, and grand declarations

  • Cause misunderstandings, rivalries, and emotional blowups

  • Help or interfere with other Cupids at the worst possible moment

  • Race against time to earn a place in the Matchmaking Hall of Fame

Every roll matters.
Every failure creates a new problem.
Every scene pushes the story closer to triumph or implosion.

Why Play Hearts & Hazards?

Because love stories are better when they’re messy.

Because failure is more interesting than success—until success finally happens.

This game is about unforgettable moments:

  • A meet-cute that goes horribly wrong

  • A public declaration that nearly ruins everything

OLD FEELINGS, NEW PROBLEMS

A Ready-to-Play Romantic One-Shot

Some love stories end quietly.
This one implodes live on camera.

Old Feelings, New Problems is a no-prep, 90-minute romantic chaos one-shot for 3–6 players, designed for fast play, public confessions, and exquisitely bad timing.

Set during a high-stakes gallery opening, two exes are forced back into each other’s orbit while careers, reputations, and livestreams hang in the balance.

They shouldn’t fall in love tonight.
So of course, they have to.

Play As

  • Alex Rivera — gallery professional holding everything together by sheer will

  • Jamie Chen — rising artist leaving town tomorrow

  • A shared past they never confronted

  • An audience that will absolutely notice if things go wrong

Why Players Love It

  • Second-chance romance with real consequences

  • Social media as an active threat

  • Big feelings, terrible timing, public stakes

  • Zero prep, tight runtime, instant drama

If you like romance that hurts a little, consequences that spiral fast, and love stories that demand drama. Hearts & Hazards is your game.
